August 6
Rochester’s Annual Peace Lantern Floating Ceremony

For the 32nd year, the city of Rochester will gather to remember what happened in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 and what we are capable of doing. Join together to make peace lanterns and float them on the waters of Silver Lake at twilight following a short program with speakers and music. Gather at 6:30pm at the East picnic shelter at Silver Lake (in case of rain, Peace United Christ Church). Sponsored by: City of Rochester, Pax Christi, Southeastern Minnesota Alliance of Peacemakers, Rochester Franciscan Community and Peace United Christ Church.
